Rare restoration opportunity for one of the few remaining two story fishing stages in Newfoundland, located at the very beginning of The Battery, next to the entrance of St. John`s harbour. (It`s the first house on your right if you`re sailing from Europe... arguably making it #1 North America.) This iconic fishing stage building is sheltered by the cliffs of The Narrows, at the base of Signal Hill, and originally had both a wharf and a traditional mooring. The potential mooring and wharf would be suitable for a medium-sized private vessel in the deepest part of the Outer Battery. The building features classic wooden pier construction, perched above the water’s edge, with unobstructed views of the Narrows and St. John`s harbour. Access to the stage starts on the North Head Trail, one of Parks Canada`s hiking trails around Signal Hill National Historic Site.
